The Burleigh Bodgies started in 1992 when two like minded groups of old rugby players started the Bond Bodgies, and the Burleigh Buccaneers as separate clubs, and friendly rivals. At different times they joined forces to ensure they had a full team and went to various rugby festivals as a combined team.

Player shortages were continually causing  problems for both teams. In the mid 90's both teams combined to be known as the Burleigh Bodgies. There are some players with us who played in the inaugural teams of  both former clubs.
